GAP — International ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
GAP — International, head office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom, is the controller of personal data processed through this website. Contact our data contact at info@gap-international.org.
This website is deliberately simple in how it treats your data:
If you email us, call us, or contact us through social media, we receive the personal data you choose to share — typically your name, contact details and the content of your message. We use it solely to respond to you and, where relevant, to administer your enquiry about volunteering, donations, partnerships or support.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only where necessary — for example with our own staff and volunteers in the UK and Nigeria who need it to handle your enquiry, or where the law requires it. Correspondence with our Nigeria office may involve transfer outside the UK; where it does, we take care that appropriate safeguards protect your data.
We keep correspondence and supporter records only as long as needed for the purpose they were collected and for any legal retention requirements, after which they are deleted.
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data rectified; have data erased in certain circumstances; object to or restrict certain processing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
To exercise any right, write to info@gap-international.org or to our head office address. We respond within one month.
Because this website transmits no data, the main risks lie in email and telephone correspondence. We handle your communications with care and restrict access to those who need it.
Our work serves young people, and we handle their information with particular care. Where we support a young person directly, consent and safeguarding procedures apply. If you are under 18, we encourage you to involve a trusted adult when contacting us, though you may also contact us directly.
Photographs of events on this site are taken at our own activities. If you appear in one and prefer it removed, contact us and we will take it down promptly (see also our Terms of Use).
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always published on this page. Questions or concerns about privacy may be sent at any time to info@gap-international.org.
